Jacob's Review:  Floating down the river in a tube was awesome! My tube was tied to my Dad's tube so I didn't get stuck anywhere, and sometimes to the food tube. There was a tree swing along the river and a little zoom waterfall that we went through 3 times!

Dad's Notes:  One of the best times you can have in Texas! A beautiful river with mangrove and oak trees, mountainous area, and crystal clear water, the scenery is incredible - when you show the photo's to friends they may not believe it's Texas!
You can rent tubes, canoes or rafts from a number of places all along the river! They will shuttle you to or from the start point! You can also bring your own tubes & rafts and just pay for the shuttle!
A great day of lazily floating down the river with friends! Bring a cooler with drinks and food, you can rent an extra tube to hold the cooler. (don't litter) Also bring large towels to cover each tube to keep it from getting hot, and some extra rope to tie tubes together. Extra 'after tube' clothes and towels in car proved valuable for a deserving stop at some great local restaurants.
Tube rental gets expensive at $10 a pop - the shuttles are numerous and most run for around $4. You may also have to pay for parking ($5) depending where you go.
There are numerous camping areas along river road and see Guadalupe Camping for more great camping! Deposit required for rental -check or credit card will work. Call for river conditions.

About $10 Tube rental (You can bring your own)
perhaps a couple bucks for the bus driver

Jacob Tip:   Make sure you use a lot of sunscreen because some people get really red! You can bring a water gun and have water fights!! Bring a towel when you go tubing, and put it on your inner tube, cause it will keep the tube wet and it won't get hot! You could bring a rope in case you want to tie tubes together. (No Glass Bottles).
