It is a pretty cool lake, it looks good. When we were water-skiing by the cliffs that was neat! You should bring a bathing suit and sun lotion so you don't get burnt. And there is an Island you can go on if you have a boat. Some people duck hunt there sometimes.

Dad's Notes: Stillhouse is closer to Killeen and easier to get to than Belton lake. The lake is also not as crowded as Belton, making it a great lake for water sports. The best skiing is near the cliffs - it blocks any wind, nice and deep - great skiing!! Great fishing for white Bass, crappie, channel and yellow catfish. Restroom facilities at most of the parks!
Union Grove Park: RV sites w/electricity and water hookups. Water rest-rooms, Showers, dump stations, fishing pier, big swim beach and boat ramp. Model Airplane Field too! Stillhouse Park: Picnic tables, swim beach, Marina is here, boat ramp, snack bar, fishing dock and boat rentals (24 Hour restaurant & Marina: 254-939-5741, Jon boats $25day, Pontoon boats $30 hr. ) Dana Peak Park: Big swim beaches w/covered picnic tables & BBQ grills, RV Sites w/ water & Electrical hookups. Water rest-rooms, showers, dump stations, fishing pier and boat ramp. Also Horseback and mountain bike trails. Cedar Gap: Free boat ramp & rest rooms, right before bridge, good fishin and parking on other side of bridge also! Rivers Bend Park: Picnic sites and boat ramp.

Drive Directions: From I35 Turn south on FM2484 (at the Heights State Bank) and turn right on FM 1670 (by the High School) to access the parks on the bridge side. Or Stay straight past the High School to access parks on the Dam side. | |
