Jacob's Review:  They have a lot of shopping places. Some neat old stuff and some nice paintings stores. I saw some kids swimming and a statue of a mermaid in the river, but it wasn't a real mermaid.

Dad's Notes:  Antiques & Atmosphere! Salado a great weekend experience - walking through the numerous mix of antique and modern curio shops; the cafes, coffee houses and Art Galleries. Some of our favorite things include the great dining at the Salado Mansion or great Texas BBQ @ Cowboy's BBQ (Dad's all time favorite restaurant)! Walk through the college ruins!
A great church in Salado full of friendly folks. Among the Bed & Breakfasts, clothing, Fine Art Stores great antique finds, Arts & Crafts and other random treasures abound. The place to take visiting relatives, or your loved ones for a nice afternoon!
There is a museum across the street from the historic Stagecoach Inn (yep, they have a real Stagecoach). There are regular Art Fairs and Festivals and numerous stone mason and other buildings from the 1860's. Call the Chamber of Commerce for a listing of Bed & Breakfast's, restaurant's, etc.
