Upper Park: This is the nature area Jacob is talking about. A hiking area and Nature trail, right in Killeen/Belton just below Belton Dam. It is within walking distance of a Belton Lake campground. No bicycles allowed, but there are bike trails just south of the park. The plateau is impressive and goes down into a canyon. Local boy scouts have done a good job making the trails.
   You can see really different types of terrain on this walk such as a plateau, forests and cliffs. Look close to see fossils within the sea floor rocks!
   Rock climbing by permit only (has bolted routes). For permit info call the Army Corps of Engineers at number below.

   Lower Park:Picnic tables overlooking scenic river pools, fishing, some unmarked trails, and some limited primitive camping sites.
   First Saturday Hikes:Each First Saturday, the Central Texas Master Naturalists will lead a hike at Miller Springs Park that features some aspect of the geology, plant life, or animal life in the park. Drive Directions:   US 190 W to loop 121. North on loop 121 aprox 6m till rd ends, left onto Dam road. Lower park on your right before dam, upper park on right after dam.
