Jacob's Review:
It's a lot of fun to go to the park in Copperas Cove. You can ride your bike on the trails in South Park. And after you're done riding your bike and your all hot, you can go swimming there because they have a pool. Or you can have a picnic there! I also like to go to the other park with the stage stop because it's a lot of fun exploring there. I also like to go to the main park because it has lots more to do and I like the pond where you can feed the ducks. And they have a really big pool there with a slide. It's lots of fun.
Dad's Notes:
Copperas Cove has 7 parks and 3 swimming pools. South Park has a pool and a nice hiking and biking trail next to a creek. They also have sand volleyball courts, a children's playground.
BMX Racing Course: The BMX racing course is in Copperas Cove City Park. The race course is on bicycles - special racing for kids on training wheels - The Cookie Monster Club. Racing by age groups up to age 60. Racing is on a dirt track with jumps and pits. Races are held on Tuesdays and Thursday evenings. With open practice from 5-7 and races usually start about 7:30. Races are also held on Saturdays fall through spring (Summer bein too durn hot for day races). There are requirements to meet in order to get on the track. If your child may be interested in racing - the best way to find out more, is to come to a race and talk to some of the coordinator, racers and volunteers. Ogletree Gap is a historical site and they even have the original stage stop there. Every October, they have the Ogletree Gap Heritage Festival here. The City Park Complex has a fishin' pond - no swimming there, but lots of ducks and geese to feed! Many picnic tables, baseball fields, a B-Ball court, Soccer field, and an Olympic size swimming pool with a diving well, slide and fun children's area with a fountain they can play in. There is an RV park - with water, electric and sewer hookups. For reservations & permits call 547-9247 during the week or through the police station all other hours.
