There is a big waterslide! It looks scary but it is really fun! The Paddle boats are awesome! You can race other people on their paddle boats and you peddle backwards too!!

Dad's Notes: This is the military ran Belton Lake Recreation Area. It is open to the public and has some great amenities including a FREE Waterslide and free paddleboat rentals! Beaches, playgrounds, B-Ball courts, pavilion and picnic areas, volleyball courts, softball facilities, camping (primitive & RV). Military personnel can rent boats and jet skis at the Marina. Anyone can get a family pass - good for the entire family, $15 for the year.

Drive Directions:
Through Post: Take US 190 West to Fort Hood Main Gate, 1st Ft Hood Exit, You are now on Hood road going north. Continue past Battalion ave, take right on old Ironsides, continue 3m to Martin Drive (near Airfield) turn left. Continue over cattle guard aprox 1 mile to N. Nolan road & turn right. 9.5m to BLORA entrance.
Through Belton: US 190 W to loop 121. North on loop 121 aprox 4m to Sparta Rd, Left. 4.4m to BLORA main Entrance. Through Killeen: WS Young North to Rancier (old 439), right. 12m to Sparta Rd, left. 4.4m to BLORA main gate. |
