Jacob's Review:
There are old guns, real bow and arrows and a sword they found on a battlefield. Look in all the drawers of the cabinets and you can find lots of stuff! See who can find the old shaving razor? And there are blocks upstairs you can build with and little houses. Oh yeah, you can try out a corn grinder.
Dad's Notes:
A nice historical venture into the area's past! While in the museum notice the ceiling and wall decoration. For the tour part check out both the computer CD Rom stations, the sound boxes and the little stories posted all over the walls. Very interesting! There is a touch screen "Historical Timeline" that does a good job spelling out the events as they occurred. Also, the written Bell County slave narratives are very interesting!! Read them phonetically!
The Belton downtown area also has some great curio, antique and hobby shops, the best coffee shop in the county, some fun restaurants, bike trails and don't miss the waterfront park!
