You get to swim & ride in a boat sometimes! There are camping grounds there with fishing, and boating. The coves and little bay areas are really cool, they go way back and have cool cliffs and stuff. We lost a red and yellow Inner-tube that I would ride in, so if you see it get it for me please!

Dad's Notes: Belton Lake - deeper and bigger than Stillhouse, offers a great number of coves and inlets for those on boats. It's rumored that there are caves in this area, also some good rock climbing. Water-skiing and boating is one of the great adventures that Texas offers! Owning a boat can get a bit expensive - but everyone should rent one on occasion and go out on the lake! Hunting, fishing, camping, boat ramps and Marina are but just a few of the activities available to you here!

Drive Directions:
Through Post: Take US 190 West to Fort Hood Main Gate, 1st Ft Hood Exit, You are now on Hood road going north. Continue past Battalion ave, take right on old Ironsides, continue 3m to Martin Drive (near Airfield) turn left. Continue over cattle guard aprox 1 mile to N. Nolan road & turn right. 9.5m to BLORA entrance.
Through Belton: US 190 W to loop 121. North on loop 121 aprox 4m to Sparta Rd, Left. 4.4m to BLORA main Entrance. Through Killeen: WS Young North to Rancier (old 439), right. 12m to Sparta Rd, left. 4.4m to BLORA main gate. |
