Located on Lake LBJ, this location has had human habitation back 10,000 years! More than 100,000 artifacts have been recovered at this location. - To include tools, spear points, arrowheads and more.
Scientists believe this may have been a regular festival or annual meeting place for different tribes & camps of hunter/gatherers. Displays of various Indian rock art found locally.
Back in the day - up to 10,000 years ago, people in this area hunted Mammoth and giant Bison. Public Tours run 2nd and 4th Saturday each month. Call for group or school trip special tours/reservations. There are also teacher lessons and materials available on their web site and at the center.
