Jacob's Review:  It is a real hiking mountain and you should bring good hiking shoes. Oh, and you will get wet cause you have to cross the stream some times on the trail.
This is where Armadillo's live - so if you watch when you are on the dirt road driving up the mountain, I know you will see some. You can chase them. They look cool, like a pokemon. Don't touch one but they will run away from you. Oh yeah, and I saw 3 giant wild turkeys - my Dad said they couldn't fly, but I saw one fly over a fence and he glided a long way!

Dad's Notes:  Awesome wilderness camping, hiking, fishing, boating and mountain biking, not to mention one of the most spectacular natural sights in Texas (Goreman Falls). Only 60 miles from Killeen!!!
Some nice views along the drive - also watch for Ostrich and Emu on a few of the farms along the way! Bring firewood if camping, no firearms allowed, pets OK on leash. The campground fills up quickly - a necessity to call ahead for reservations!
There is a beautiful 1.5 mile walk along the big stream with deep clear pools, fed by numerous short waterfalls the whole way- breathtaking! You will get your feet wet and it is not a flat trail, the springs in the area come out of the rocks and make little moss covered cavelets and if you look you can see a lot of crystals in the rocks! Great fishing, many animals and birds (including bald eagles, Golden-Cheeked warblers, Blue jays and others) in the area!
There are walking guided tours of both Goreman falls (Don't miss this!) & the park caves on Sat & Sun (again call ahead for reservations). The falls are scheduled to become day use in the near future! Another Texas must see!
