Jacob's Review:
It has a humongous big lake. It is probably the biggest lake in the world (biggest Jacob has seen). There is a store where they will give you a map, and this stuff you can mix in a footprint and then wait and you will have your own animal footprint. They give you a sheet with the kinds of animal footprints to look for on your hiking adventures so you don't have to remember them.
You can rent a canoe or a kayak there to go on the lake or ride this really big boat that goes to the disappearing waterfall. They have lots of fun activities - like a live Birds of Prey show and sometimes they have Star Parties.
Star Parties are where about 50 scientists are in this field and it is all dark, and they have telescopes and some special binoculars, they have some regular telescopes and some big telescopes. I saw Saturn and you can really see the rings, I'm not kidding. I also saw this planet (Jupiter), it had red-brownish, two lines on it and you could see 2 stars next two it, that was 2 of it's moons!

Dad's Notes:
A 940 Acre nature park with a lodge & cottages, restaurant, RV parks, both primitive and improved camp sites. This is all to view the natural wildlife - Bald Eagles, Black Capped Vireo and Golden Cheek Warbler are all in abundance in the area, in fact you can get a hiking trail map that shows areas you should go to see each of the wildlife types.
Hiking trails of varying difficulty - including one wheelchair accessible route, a very clean and natural looking & expansive park! The lodge has rooms and cottages, a great restaurant, guided tours and numerous activities including music, shows and demonstrations at the amphitheater. The Vanishing Texas River Cruise leaves from here also.
