Jacob's Review:  This is the highest mountain, it is really high! You can even see the whole city from up there!! You can see boats driving on the river and a big bridge! How many steps to the top?

Dad's Notes:  Mt. Bonnel is a mountain overlooking Austin. A quick trip up the mountain, is a short 105 steps. At the top you will discover a quarter mile trail running north/south. There are picnic tables on either end and more 'wild' trails running back down through the thick growth.
From the south end picnic area you will find a great view of downtown Austin and from the north a very scenic view of the river and the bridge! Look over the edge in the middle and check out mansions on the water, with their beautiful landscaping, boat houses and gardens! The south side also has some short hiking trails to the bottom.
A neighborhood drive through the area will reveal countless mansions and grand landscaping throughout the area, definitely worth a drive around! Not to bad of a hike - it's short - but bring suitable shoes!

FREE!! (So is Mayfield Park!)     No phone here - but likely great Cell phone reception!
