Jacob's Review:
The trails are very foresty with a lot of stepping stones and wooden bridges across the creeks. Walk slow and steady to make friends with the squirrels and other animals, but don't pet them because if they bite you might have to get a shot!
Dad's Notes:
Mayfield Preserve consists of 21 acres of natural areas of woods with walking trails and plenty of natural habitat areas for wildlife. In Mayfield Park, there is a cottage and 2 acres of colorful gardens and lush green sculpted gardens, palm trees that date back to the 1930's, fish ponds, giant colorful goldfish swimming throughout the lily pond system and peacocks and peahens that are descendants of the original peapocks and peahens which were gifts in 1935.
You will also find a nice nature trail that meanders down near the lake. Walk up some hills by small cliffs and across footbridges over the creek and across stepping stones and wooden bridges over creeks and streams. The trails and gardens are all shaded and near the water, a very relaxing and impressive nature experience, year round!!! A bridal/wedding room available.
