Jacob's Review: They have canoes there that you can paddle out in the river, you can go down the river by yourself - with your Mom or Dad and it's really fun.
The pool is a giant pool and the bottom has rocks, but the sides look like a regular pool. If it is nice out you can swim there in the winter too, but bring a big towel cause you might get cold when you get out.

Dad's Notes: This large natural springs comes out of the ground here, in Zilker park. Sides, edges, diving boards, stairs and ladders, and a dam were built around the river to create a natural springs swimming pool nearly a thousand feet long! The natural stone river bottom remains as it was. The spring water is a refreshingly chilly 68 degrees (not to cold) year round.
The natural spring water is continually monitored and the pool is closed if the bacteria count gets high (usually after heavy rains) - call the hotline (24hrs) to ensure the pool is open before your trip {(512) 867-3080}.
Pool is open year round and is free in the winter. Canoe rentals just below the pool, (512) 478-3852. There is also a 'Dog Spring' just downstream of the Humans swimmin' hole!

		Drive Directions: Take 190 east to 35 south to Austin, Exit 234A, 1st St (Cesar Chavez?). Right on 1st to Lamar. Left on Lamar - over bridge. Right on Barton Springs Rd. Go over Barton Creek then left into Barton Springs Pool.
