Pima Canyon Trail

Jacob's Review:

Dad's Notes:  There is a beautiful hiking trail right in North Tucson/Oro Valley. The Pima Canyon is accessed only by foot - no motorized vehicles or mountain bikes.
This trail has both breathtaking views of the Mountains, Tucson valley - yet also offers secluded, quiet spots to stop and relax. A breathtaking excursion - a total f 8.5 miles if you hike the trail to the top of Mt. Kimball - but great stops all along the way . Just a mile to the first landing area - offers a great picnic spot overlooking the Tucson Valley - a mile or to more and there is a waterfall and some large fat rocks - effect for stretching out on or having a picnic.
You may catch a glimpse of part of the big horn sheep herd that roams this area -as well as scores of differrnt animals and birds - a really beautiful desert area - you can notice the fauna change as you travel farther into the canyon.Bing lot’s of water, a whistle and perhaps a flashlight for emergencies!
The first 5 miles are relatively easy - after the saddle -to he top of the mountain is a bit more difficult.
