Jacob's Review:
This is where you can have a Star Party! There is real cool rooms to sleep in and there is a lot of really big telescopes and at night you get to go look through them. I saw Saturn and you can really see the rings, I am not kidding you. I also saw this planet (Jupiter), it had red-brownish two lines on it and you could see 2 stars next to it, that was 2 of the moons around it!

Dad's Notes:

A privately operated, extremely fun astronomical observatory with 8 different telescopes & roll off roof. Go for a Star Party, you get a Star Guide (local astronomer - or 3) who guides your group on a tour of the universe! You look at planets, stars, nebula (space clouds), comets, double and triple stars, even whole other galaxies!

Did you know you can see the stars in different colors! You can't do this and not only learn something but walk away changed somehow!

Adjacent to the observatory is the Skywatchers Inn family bed & breakfast, complete with science classroom & planetarium. The rooms are great and rates are reasonable and provide a discount on the observatory Star Party. Kids as young as 5 get excited about this!

I recommend adding the extra $20 to also use the super 20” Maksutov telescope (In it's own 14 foot domed observatory. Bring a zip disk if you want computer copies of your sightings!

This is a must do event - splurge on the wife (or husband) and get away for a night here! It will be a night you will always cherish!

A 4 hour Star party runs about $125+ depends on the size of your group (the more people the cheaper per person!). Breaks down to about $45 per person - keep in mind you are 'renting' an astronomer who will likely be driving down from Tucson to give you a tour of the Universe!
