A great place for star parties to observe stars, planets, comets, space and the universe.

Jacob's Review:
I didn't go here yet because it is not done, but I can tell you that these are really fun! I went to my first ‘Star Party' when I was 6 and I still like the neat things you can see - just like from the movies!

Dad's Notes:

This newly constructed observatory is available for public viewing of the Cosmos and as a scientific resource for local students from grade school through grad school. To make a donation to assist in the construction call!

There will be a 24” telescope that can be viewed directly through or, in the adjacent classroom, students can view on video screens through the camera. These facilities will also be used for local programs to be aired on the campus local cable channel. Things you can see at the observatory include the craters of the moon, clouds and red spot of Jupiter, Saturn and its rings, galaxies, nebulae and other amazing things!

Drive Directions: Tucson: I-10 south to Benson, exit #302 to Sierra Vista on Hiway 90, continue 29 miles to 1st Sierra Vista light (Hiway 90 Bypass and East gate to Fort Huachuca). Turn left 4.1 miles to Campus Drive, (I think 4th light?) and turn left. Turn right on Colombo and look for the dome! Sierra Vista: Go to the college campus (by Buena High School and behind Walmart). Look for the dome.
Jacob Tip:   If you look on the internet at www.drsky.com you can find out when there is meteor shows in the sky and you can go outside and watch them! I saw a giant one with different colors of flames shooting out!
