Mission San Xavier Del Bac

Jacob's Review:

Dad's Notes:  The inside of the church is awe inspiring - even a non-believer would take pause in this, one of the oldest of Churches in the country. My words cannot describe the in and out sides of this mission - I will just point out that photographers from around the globe consider the mission to be a necessary work in their portfolios.
Not just a chapel this mission has attached buildings - some of which house a museum and gift shop - and of course living quarters for the priest of this fully functioning Church. Look up and notice the construction as you go through the church and museum. There is a school next door and a gift shop/Café across the lot. The hill next door to the chapel is a short hike to the shrine and cross that overlook the Mission in all it’s glory.
Depending on the Season (usually weekends) there may be Tohono O’odham Indians selling wares and Indian food (FryBread Cafe) in the adjacent lot. The Mission was started in 1692 and completed about 100 years later.

Jacob Tip:   Cowboy kids in the Wild West used to ride all day in the back of a covered wagon - just to go to the store! We have cars so it is easy to go anywhere - so don't sit around the house bein a lazy butt ~ take the kids out to do something fun!
