Jacob's Review:
This is a different country and it's not very far away! There are a lot of stuff to buy there - it is mostly Mexican stuff - but some of it is pretty neat. It is fun to look at all the stuff and to get some food there at a good restaraunt.

Dad's Notes:

Arizona’s Mexican Border town. Full of neat, colorful Mexican crafts and wares - too much to even try to list. A great time and experience for the whole family!

Some tips on crossing the border - take small bills, bring bottled water (or buy it there), plenty of bargains - the typical practise of haggling to get a cheaper price or better deals is still alive in well in most of the shops there - check prices in a few places before purchasing - this will give you an idea of what things are going for. Stay in the shopping areas.

The food is great, of course - don’t drink the water, and unless you are staying for the night life I wouldn’t recommend the evenings there for a family environment. Park on the American side and walk over all the shopping is well within an easy walk. Also bring a picture ID to get back across the border.

There is also some good shopping on the American side.

Drive Directions: From Tucson I-19 south aprox 60 miles to the Border. I recommend parking at a pay lot on the US side (for around $5) and someone will watch your car.
Jacob Tip:   The people selling stuff will go lower on the prices - it is called haggling - you try to bargain to get the prices down.
