There is a real mine you can go in - it is dark inside - and you ride a real mine train and get to wear miner clothes and everything like that!

This is a lot of fun, and if you learned about geology in school before you go you will know more about how the mine works.

Dad's Notes:

This mine tour is just great! It is very neat that the tour guides used to actually be miners at the mine. Definatly bring your own flashlight (look at the walls in the mine - you can see crystals and formations). Dress warm! - it is a chilly 47’F year round (pants and a long sleeve shirt). You will ride the mine cart through down 1500 feet into the mine, there are some large cavernous rooms and the tours, actual miners, are full of little factoids about the mine, from the number of millions of ounces of gold, pounds of copper, silver, lead, zinc.

Drive Directions: Tucson: (90 mi)I-10 south to Exit 303, Hiway 80 south (Benson, Tombstone, Bisbee exit) about 49 mi to Bisbee, after tunnel, 2nd exit - Historic Old Bisbee exit. Exit right. Tour entrance straight ahead.
SV: Take Fry east out of town (changes to 90) till it ends at 80, turn right to Bisbee, after tunnel, 2nd exit - Historic Old Bisbee exit. Exit right. Tour entrance straight ahead.

Jacob Tip: Bring a laser pointer or flashlight for looking for cave crystals, if you can get a green laser pointer you can actually see the beam!
